HISTORY

History

September 1931
Yoshiyoshi Suzuki founded Takasago Industrial Works in Dachi-cho, Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, beginning the design and manufacture of various industrial kilns.
September 1953
The business was incorporated as Takasago Industry Co., Ltd. Yoshiyoshi Suzuki assumed the role of President and CEO.
1957-1966
Tile factory, raw materials factory, and machine shop were built at the current headquarters location, establishing the foundation of Takasago Industry Co., Ltd.
February 1965
Takasago Tile Co., Ltd. was established in Kamado-cho, Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, beginning production of unglazed mosaic tiles.
April 1966
Became a portfolio company of Nagoya Small and Medium Business Investment & Consultation Co., Ltd.
October 1966
Current headquarters building completed.
March 1968
Imari Factory was built in Higashiyamashiro-cho, Imari City, Saga Prefecture, beginning the design and construction of various industrial kilns and related equipment, as well as production of glazed roof tiles.
January 1970
Established joint venture Fancy Tile Co. in Malaysia, beginning production of glazed mosaic tiles and wall tiles.
April 1973
Established joint venture Alborz Ceramic Co. in Iran, beginning glazed mosaic tile production.
September 1974
Established joint venture Asahi-Ten Ceramics Co., Ltd. in Taiwan, beginning manufacture of industrial kilns and related equipment.
February 1975
Established joint venture Philmosaic Co. in the Philippines.
March 1975
Developed externally heated rotary kiln. Developed carbonization rotary kiln.
July 1975
Developed continuous kiln for smoked roof tile firing.
March 1977
Installed a high-efficiency tableware plant at the headquarters factory combining micro kilns and roller hearth kilns, beginning white tableware production.
February 1978
Developed high-performance Super Wide Kiln for glazed roof tile firing.
March 1979
Obtained JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) marking certification for tile manufacturing.
July 1981
Added a centralized machine tool factory at headquarters.
December 1982
Added a fan and burner manufacturing factory at headquarters.
March 1983
Developed internally heated rotary kiln.
May 1983
Developed honeycomb firing tunnel kiln.
July 1983
Added a test furnace factory at headquarters.
February 1985
Completed and announced a fully automatic computer-controlled tunnel kiln.
November 1986
Developed a fully automatic glazed mosaic tile manufacturing plant.

Developed a reduction firing roller hearth kiln for porcelain tableware.

Developed a computer furnace monitoring, management, and control system.

Yoshitake Suzuki assumed the role of President and CEO.

Fully implemented CAD systems in the design department.

Opened the Awaji Sales Office in Hyogo Prefecture.

Fully upgraded the CAD systems in the design department.

Developed electrically heated, special atmosphere controlled batch rotary kiln.

Developed gas-heated, special atmosphere controlled continuous rotary kiln.

Obtained ISO 9001 certification.

Developed electrically heated, special atmosphere controlled pusher kiln.
May 2001
Developed electrically heated, special atmosphere controlled elevator kiln.
October 2001
Developed batch microwave firing furnace.
April 2002
Introduced cost management system.
June 2003
Developed microwave continuous furnace and hybrid kiln.
July 2003
Hiroshi Watanabe assumed the role of President and CEO.

Established joint venture Foshan Takasago Industrial Kiln Co., Ltd. in China.
